Abstract
The aim of this article is to present and discuss cases of queering the Sherlock Holmes stories. The analysis is carried out on the examples of the gay novel The Sexual Adventures of Sherlock Holmes from 1971, and fanfiction based on the BBC series Sherlock (2010–2017). The article discusses various queering strategies and their relation to the analyzed examples. The ways of queering that characterize the older work and the newer fanfictions are also compared.
