Artykuł przedstawia problematykę reprezentacji osób nieheteronormatywnych w filmach wchodzących w skład Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Autorka prezentuje skróconą historię tej franczyzy medialnej, aby pokazać rządzące nią mechanizmy. Ponadto przywołuje pojawiające się chronologicznie postaci queerowe, pokazując, jak wiele czasu zajęło twórcom wprowadzenie homoseksualnej postaci, przy jednoczesnym promowaniu kolejnych filmów poprzez queerbaiting.
