Abstract
Transsexuality is a topic that is becoming more and more prevalent in social and academic discourse, but this is not due to an increase in the quality and quantity of cinematography portraying trans people. In the present study, five semi-structured interviews were conducted with transgender people about their perceptions of film and television representations of trans people. The study was combined with the screening of the short film „Still Me”. The collected narratives were subjected to thematic analysis and five main thematic threads were
distinguished.
